Cosmic Rush Dream Drop: Slot Overview
One studio which has enthusiastically taken to Relax Gaming’s Dream Drop progressive jackpot system is the Isle of Mann-based outfit Four Leaf Gaming. At the time of writing, of the 8 slots in Four Leaf Gaming’s portfolio, no less than 3 of them were hooked up to the jackpot network. The game in question here is Cosmic Rush Dream Drop and caters for players looking for a trancey, retro environment to try their luck at chasing down Dream Drop jackpots.
Fleeting images of a number of previous slots flashed through the consciousness when Cosmic Rush Dream Drop appeared on the monitor. Key amongst them was Big Time Gaming’s Star Clusters Megaclusters as Cosmic Rush Dream Drop has a similar flying through the universe at ludicrous speed effect going on in its background, which is pretty cool. The gaming area is more traditional, though, where stars, royals, gems and the like appear. With a mix of classic and futuristic, Cosmic Rush Dream Drop sets the scene for a sizable amount of features to (hopefully) do their thing.
Before they do, however, players pick a stake of 20 c to $/€160 per spin, keeping in mind that the larger the bet, the greater the chance of triggering a jackpot win. The game’s RTP figure is 94% (less when using Nitro Spins), with 12% going to the jackpots. It’s math model is also highly volatile. It’s played on a 6-reel, 4-row gaming grid with 4,096 ways, awarding winning combinations when matching symbols land on three or more adjacent reels from the leftmost side.
Pay symbols include 9 to A card ranks, awarding wins of 0.25 to 0.5 times the bet for a 6-of-a-kind result. There are also green gems, blue gems, red gems, and purple gems encased in gold, plus a star as the high pays – stars pay out when landing 2 OAK. Getting a 6 high pay symbol win is worth 0.75 to 6 times the bet.
Cosmic Rush Dream Drop: Slot Features
Rushing side by side with the Dream Drop jackpots are Cash and Collect symbols, a Rush Meter, two free spins rounds, as well as Four Leaf Gaming’s usual smattering of optional extras.
Cash and Collect Symbols
Collect symbols land on reels 1 and 6. When Cash symbols land at the same time as Collect symbols, their values are awarded. If Collect symbols land on reels 1 and 6, then Cash symbols are collected twice.
Rush Meter
Every Cash symbol landing without a Collect symbol contributes to filling a segment of the Rush Meter. Every 20 segments filled increases the multiplier by +1. The multiplier is applied to all future Cash symbols landing in the base game and in Cash Rush free spins. The multiplier also applies to wild symbols in the Wild Rush free spins round. When activating free spins a random Rush Multiplier of 1x to 10x is awarded. The existing Rush Multiplier is stored until after the free spins bonus.
Scatters
Landing 3 or more scatters awards one of the free spins round. Players click one of the scatters to randomly win either Cash Rush or Wild Rush free spins:
- 3 scatters award 4 Cash Rush free spins or 10 Wild Rush free spins.
- 4 scatters award 6 Cash Rush free spins or 15 Wild Rush free spins.
- 5 scatters award 8 Cash Rush free spins or 20 Wild Rush free spins.
- 6 scatters award 10 Cash Rush free spins or 30 Wild Rush free spins.
Before bonus rounds begin, players may gamble for more free spins on the Bonus Booster. Up to 30 Wild Rush free spins or 10 Cash Rush free spins may be won if gambles are successful.
Cash Rush Free Spins
Only Cash and Collect symbols may land – at least 1 Collect and Cash symbol is guaranteed to land on each spin. The Rush Meter is applied to all Cash symbols landing during this feature.
Wild Rush Free Spins
Wild symbols are added to the reels for this one, substituting for regular pay symbols. The Rush Meter Multiplier is applied to all wild symbols landing in the feature. Hitting 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols awards an additional 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 free spins, respectively.
Bonus Replay
Free spins wins under a certain threshold trigger the Bonus Replay, where players may gamble their free spins winning for a chance to replay the bonus round. Successful wheel spins replay the round (previous winnings are not carried over), whereas losing the gamble means returning to the base game.
Dream Drop
This feature may randomly trigger when the spin button is pressed, and when activated, a Dream Drop Jackpot spin is played before the normal spin. Landing 6 Dream Drop symbols on the Jackpot Spin moves players to the Dream Drop Bonus. In it, the Dream Drop Bonus Wheel appears with 5 jackpots – Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Maor, and Mega, each possessing a certain number of segments. Landing the wheel fills a segment. The wheel keeps spinning until one of the jackpots has all of its segments filled, thereby awarding its prize. Seed values for the Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major, or Mega Jackpot are €1, €5, €100, €25,000, or €500,000, respectively.
Fortune Coins
Fortune Coins are collected when they land on the reels. They may be used to activate the Cash Rush or Wild Rush free spins feature for the cost of 600 Coins. Coins can be collected to be spent across all Four Leaf Gaming games.
Nitro Spins
Enabling Nitro Spins in the base game means Cash and Collect symbols occur more frequently, an increase of scatters to trigger the bonus more often, and Coins are collected more frequently. When Nitro Spins are enabled, they increase the spin cost by 50%, or they cost 4 Coins per spin. The RTP when using Nitro Spins is 93.37%-93.68%.
Cosmic Rush Dream Drop: Slot Verdict
Well, that was alright. The Dream Drop range of slots is widely varied, and having something modern with a retro twist adds to the lineup. Cosmic Rush Dream Drop is a vibrant-looking and sounding game if you like the EDM blasting through the dimensions approach while still retaining hooks to the past. It’s a bit like a disco party aboard the Starship Enterprise, the original one, where everyone’s wearing those Star Trek suits jamming to tunes spun on a turntable by DJ Vulcan while the spaceship blasts by the Rosette Nebula at warp 9.
One nice mechanical twist in the game is the way Cash symbols are collected by the Rush Meter to increase its attached multiplier. It gives non-collected Cash symbols a certain value instead of letting them just go to waste. Having two bonus rounds isn’t a bad thing either, though some may have preferred being able to choose which one to play when free spins trigger rather than randomly being assigned one. The Wild Rush was by far the most common round to get during the test session, though as typically is the case with Dream Drop slots, free spins can take a while to trigger due to some of the RTP being allocated to the jackpot payouts. Then again, Dream Drop jackpots are only accessible from base game spins, so free spins might not be as desirable anyway. Either way, players get two possible free spins rounds and all the other extras typically associated with a Four Leaf Gaming slot, such as Nitro Spins, Fortune Coins, as well as pre and post-free spins gambles.
In other words, Cosmic Rush Dream Drop is another Four Leaf Gaming release with a sizable list of features, optional or otherwise. Even if Cosmic Rush Dream Drop didn’t produce the most memorable Dream Drop experience, it fills a certain niche, supplying jackpot enthusiasts with a cosmically styled trance slot to have a crack at.
